Im Juni 2020 fing alles an: mit Bestsellerautorin Dörte Hansen als Gast und einer ordentlichen Portion Kartoffelsalat, wie der Schriftsteller ihn in Paris vom Honorar für seine erste Kurzgeschichte gegessen hat. Über 125 Folgen gibt es bereits vom NDR-Kultur-Bücherpodcast eat.READ.sleep., der mehr als 140 Lesekreise in ganz Deutschland angestoßen hat. Alle zwei Wochen versorgt uns eat.READ.sleep. mit Lektüreempfehlungen, gibt Lesetipps und sorgt für Orientierung auf dem Büchermarkt, ganz ohne Genrebeschränkungen. Bei der lit.COLOGNE begrü.en die beiden Hosts Daniel Kaiser und Katharina Mahrenholz das Publikum zu einer Liveaufnahme des Erfolgspodcasts. Lieblingsbücher werden gepriesen, Neuerscheinungen in den Blick genommen, Bestseller auch mal verrissen oder kontrovers diskutiert. Bei der unterhaltsamen Bücher-Show darf die literarische Vorspeise ebenso wenig fehlen wie die spontane Interaktion mit dem Publikum oder das Bücherquiz.
